She began working as a photographer in the 1940s and took pictures for Life magazine during a golden age of magazine photojournalism.
The following images of Marilyn Monroe on the set of the actress's last film, The Misfits (1961) were iconic, but she had taken many photos of Monroe from 1951 onwards.
Monroe died on 5th August 1962 aged 36.
