How done:
- 12v DC valve releases water droplet, which then passes through an infared sensor which starts the clock on the intervolometer
- intervolometer activated by droplet passing through the infared sensor, which then triggers gun and flash
- gun mounted in machine vice with adjustable X & Y axes which allows for precise targeting adjustments
- camera shutter kept open in a dark room during the process so the flash entirely lit the collision.
- precise calculations used to measure exactly when the drop and pellet arrive at the same point. The whole process takes 28 milliseconds
