Damien Hirst (born 1965) is an internationally renowned English artist, and is reportedly Britain's richest living artist, with his wealth valued at RM1.05 billion in the 2010 Sunday Times Rich List.
Hirst's first major "animal" installation was done in 1990, entitled A Thousand Years, and consisted of a large glass case containing maggots and flies feeding off a rotting cow's head.
It was recreated recently, in the Tate Modern art gallery in London.
