Most haunting photograph of the Holocaust

This photo of a young woman, at first glance, is no different from any photo of an attractive female ever taken. Indeed, she has movie star natural beauty looks, smiling in a relaxed way at the camera.

That's when the story takes a twist, for this photo was taken by Hugo Jaeger, Adolf Hitler's personal photographer. The photo was taken in Poland's Kutno Ghetto at the beginning of World War 2.

There's a curled-up piece of yellow cloth on her lapel – a makeshift Star of David. Every Jewish prisoner in the ghetto was forced to wear one.

It's almost certain that she'd be one of the millions who died in the Holocaust's death camps.
