Never before seen last photos of aviator Amelia Earhart just before her doomed final flight

Amelia Mary Earhart (1897–disappeared 1937) was a famous American aviation pioneer, being the first woman to receive the Distinguished Flying Cross, for flying solo across the Atlantic Ocean. During an attempt to make a circumnavigational flight in 1937 in Lockheed Model 10 Electra, she disappeared over the Pacific Ocean near Howland Island.

She was 40 years old.

These are the recently unearthed final images of Earhart as she prepared for that trip, including:

- the ill-fated plane
- packing for the journey
- getting her hair cut by a barber in Miami
