The Rigid Designator, one of the hardest ice climbs in the world

The Rigid Designator, near Vail, Colorado, United States, is a massive pillar with a pine-cone-like base, followed by 110 feet of vertical ice.

Climbers attempting to scale it risk serious injury, or worse, if they lose their footing on its sheer face.
