Gobi desert is in China.
The Telegraph pointed out that all of the following images were taken less than 100 miles from Jiuquan, which is where China's space program is headquartered, which have raised frenetic speculation:
- are there aliens there?
- is this China's version of Area 51?
- a military experiment?
- it's some kind of targeting or calibrating grid for Chinese spy satellites?
- a QR code for aliens?
- a big practical joke?
The following is in Dunhuang, Jiuquan, Gansu, just north of the Shule River. It is a rectangular grid, apparently made up of huge metallic stripes, that looks a bit like city streets without the buildings. About a mile long and 3,000 feet wide. Some have claimed this formation is a replica of the streets of Washington, D.C.

Then there's the image that was also taken north of the Shule River. It's also a grid structure comprised of a series of squares that is littered with debris from exploded vehicles. It's west of a large electrical or radio station.

This looks like a target with three jets in the middle and debris radiating out from the center.

A square on the left (about 1km x 1km) and another grid-like thing on the right (about 1.5km x 1.5km)

The craziest of them all could very well be the following: thousands of lines intersecting in a gigantic grid about 18 miles long.

Then there's the strange airport-like structure that'shttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif bright cyan in colour and seems full of water or some kind of bizarre material. Next to it is yet another airport-like structure next to it. A decoy?
Then there's the absolutely huge complex, at least 5 miles x 10 miles. They look like some kind of precipitation pools. But right in the middle of the desert?
Yes, one possible explanation is that someone hacked Google Maps and inserted naughty overlays. What do you think?
