The death of Kim Il-Sung

Kim Il-sung (15 April 1912 – 8 July 1994) ruled North Korea (The Democratic People's Republic of Korea) from its establishment in 1948 until his death.

On 8th July 1994, aged 82, he collapsed from a sudden heart attack. The country's best doctors tried, but were ultimately unable, to revive him.

A 10-day mourning period was declared by Kim Jong-il.
