Vermont State Police seal modified by inmate, only discovered later

As reported by Burlington Free Press on 2nd Feb 2012

A Vermont prison inmate who makes stationery and license plates has surreptitiously added the outline of a pig to the state crest on police cruisers.

It was only discovered on 1st Feb 2012, while the decals have been added to around 30 cruisers in the past year.

In the 1960s, the term "pig" is an offensive term for police officers, perhaps less so these days.
