Roy Lichtenstein (1923 – 1997) was a prominent American pop artist, a peer of Andy Warhol & Jasper Johns. He favoured old-fashioned comic strip as subject matter, and his work was heavily influenced by both popular advertising and the comic book style.
"Sleeping Girl", an oil and magna painting, was produced in 1964. Its actual size: 36" x 36".
On 9th May 2012, it sold for USD44,882,500 (>RM134 million); his most expensive creation ever.
