50th anniversary of JFK death: Malaysia's representative at the funeral of President John F Kennedy, 25th November 1963
Barely 2 months after the formation of Malaysia on 16th September 1963, Jack Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States was shot at 12.30pm on 22nd November 1963, and was pronounced dead half an hour later.
The funeral took place 3 days later, attended by 200 foreign dignitaries from 92 foreign nations, the largest gathering of foreign statesmen in the history of the United States, and also the second largest gathering of foreign dignitaries at a state funeral since that of King Edward VII in London in 1910.
Malaysia was represented by Sir George Robert Laking (1912 – 2008), then New Zealand's Ambassador to the USA, as shown by the following copy of an extract from the official State Department Document titled, "Government Leaders Expected to Attend President Kennedy's Funeral 6:00 AM Monday November 25.”

Songs entitled "Ini Kali Lah"
Even before STAR Sabah adopted the phrase as its battlecry, it has been in popular use for quite some time, for example by the Sabah football team's fan club in 2011:

There are quite a few songs uploaded to youtube, some so-so, some horrendous.
IMHO here are the best ones, in order of preference.
MrDD - Bah! Tunggu Apa Lagi? Ini Kali Lah (2012): this is a demo version, but I like the arrangement, melody & the overall rock feel. Headbanging mode starts 1:50
Drs Kustin Ladi - Ini Kali Lah Kita Menang (2012) (words/lyrics: Drs Kustin Ladi): excellent chorus, a sure singalong hit:
kalau bukan kita siapa lagi
kalau bukan sekarang bila lagi
ini kali lah
ini kali kita pasti menang
Only grouse is that the chorus comes in rather late, at 1:43. Drs Kustin is apparently the original singer of the 1990 local favourite Muka Kayu Balak, and a pro-opposition teacher known for his oratory skills.
Justin Lusah - Ini Kali Lah (2012): this is the official song of STAR Sabah, officially launched on 20th April 2012. (Music: Justin Lusah, lyrics: Maklin Masiau [STAR Sabah Kudat Division chief]). Perhaps notable is that civil servants are also involved in the party.
Clarence Anthonius - Ni kali Lah (2012?): jumping on the "Ini Kali Lah" bandwagon, Clarence sings a love song, which has nothing to do with politics.

Fake degree holders in Malaysia
On 26th July 2012, Bernama reported that police are tracking several individuals including a Tan Sri believed to have bought fake degrees from a company in Subang Jaya. They are part of 525 fake graduates who earned "degrees" without attending any lectures, sitting for exams or submitting any thesis. In other words, they paid a certain amount of money in exchange for a piece of paper, then conveniently added the titles to their names.
The fake degrees were issued in the name of 5 foreign universities, including 3 which didn't exist:
- University of Rockhampton (non-existent)
- Harvey International University (non-existent)
- Cannington Brook University (non-existent)
- Glastonbury University
- Charles Molnar University
So, to identify at least some of these people, it's just a matter of creative googling of the non-existent universities, say: "+datuk +rockhampton" while customising the search date to say, between 1/1/2000 and 7/1/2012 (1st July 2012), otherwise all you get will be newsreports on the latest case.
So far, this is what I have found - please feel free to add/comment/correct. Thanks.
YB Dato' Hj Mohamad Daud bin Hj Mohd Yusoff, DPMP, AMP, PJK, JP: MBA from the University of Rockhampton; an UMNO state assemblyman in the Selama constituency, Perak
Former national karate coach T. Ponniyah, honorary doctorate from the University of Rockhampton, United States, in June 2008.
Ms Shyamini Govendan, Senior Manager HR, Admin at Malaysia Pacific Corporation Berhad (MPCB), an investment and property holding company, listed on the Main Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE). In the company's 2007 annual report, among her qualifications is stated "MA in Human Resources Management from the University of Rockhampton."
This guy is asking for a RM19,000 per month salary while touting a fake degree.
Dato' Sri Sufri bin Hj Mohd Zin, corporate figure. In TRC Synergy Bhd's 2011 corporate highlights report, Dato' Sri Surfi, its founder and executive chairman is stated as holding an MBA in Construction Management from Harvey International University. TRC Synergy Bhd is a construction company listed on the Main Board of the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
Zulkefli Ibrahim, General Manager (Head of Retail Assets Development) at MRCB, a leading property and infrastructure developer in Malaysia. He stated that he has a MSc in Real Estate Management, Real Estate Management from Charles Molnar University (2007 – 2009).
On 19th January 2007, Bernama reported that Kajang municipal councillor and Selangor MIC assistant secretary, Senator N. Rawisandran, 43 holds a diploma in property management from the University of Rockhampton.
Jeyaraman Seenivasagam, Owner, Success Edge, Masters in Education, Training and Development, University of Rockhampton (2007 – 2009)
There are quite a few Malaysians on Linkedin saying they graduated from the 5 universities mentioned above.

24-carat gold Rolls-Royce Ghost Diva by Fenice Milano
Some people consider the Rolls-Royce Ghost as the ultimate luxury car.
Then Italian fashion design house Fenice Milano took it a step further, by subjecting the car to a makeover: spray painting it in 24-carat gold and dubbed it The Diva, increasing its price 5 times over.
When the standard Ghost was launched in Malaysia in February 2010, the manufacturer's suggested retail price was reportedly in the region of RM2.6 million exclusive of taxes, insurance, and all the relevant bureaucracy fees. If you include a 200% tax, then the price would be RM7.8 million. If you multiply that by 5, then the cost balloons to around RM40 million.
